Overview
A dynamic segment is a group of subscribers who match rules you set. It updates on its own as subscribers start or stop matching.
Build a dynamic segment
1. Go to Segments, click Create Segment, then click Build Segment under Dynamic Segment.
2. Enter a Segment name, then choose a kind of condition:
Subscriber Activity - Any event that a subscriber interacted with such as: Received a message, Clicked a link or Replied to a message.
Subscriber Attributes - This describes who the subscriber is, such as: Phone Type, Opt-in date, Opt-in source, Subscriber tags or State / Province.
3. Click Condition group, then choose an attribute, an operator and a value. For example: Phone Type > Is > iPhone.
By this definition, you're creating a segment where subscribers have an iPhone which is useful for iMessage communication.
4. Click Add condition for another row, such as Opt-in date > In the last > 30 > Day(s). Then choose whether All or Any of the conditions must match. Segment size and Eligible recipients update as you build.
5. Click Save Segment. It appears on the Segments page, marked Dynamic.
Tip: For engaged or unengaged subscribers, use Received a message, Clicked a link or Replied to a message with Has or Has not.
What happens next
Your segment stays current as subscribers change, so you never need to refresh it. Use it as the audience when you create a campaign, or for a specific flow to trigger.
For Shopify stores: The Commerce Activity, Shopify Activity and Commerce filters use orders and shopping activity from a connected Shopify store. If the connection is disconnected, these options will no longer be applicable.
