Overview

A web form collects new subscribers from your website. Someone enters their phone number, Cobalt texts them a 6-digit code, and they type the code into the form to finish signing up.

Get Started

1. Go to Web Forms and click Create Web Form.

2. On Setup, choose a Form type, enter a Name and add any details you want.

  • Dedicated Page: A standalone web page with its own link.

  • Website Embed: A form you place inside a page on your website.

3. Click Next. On Design, click Select a template, or drag elements onto the canvas.

4. Click any element to edit its text and style.

In addition, you can also customize the various screens shown to the customer by clicking the tabs at the bottom (Form, Opt-in code, or Success). Once you select these tabs, you can customize the elements on this page.

5. Click Next. On Behavior, choose any segments new subscribers should join, and whether the form resets after someone submits it.

6. Click Next. On Messaging, check the texts subscribers receive.

  • Double opt-in message: The text with the 6-digit code. It cannot be edited. Your account's welcome text is also read only.

  • Send additional welcome messaging: Turn on to send a second text that you write.

7. Use the toggle on the top right to enable the form, then click Finish. The Congratulations window shows the page link to copy, or the embed code for a Website Embed form.

What happens next

Your form appears in the Web Forms list as Active. Until you click Finish, it stays a Draft.

Helpful Information

To select the Enabled on toggle, you need an approved toll-free or 10DLC number and an email or phone field on the form. This applies to both form types.

Troubleshooting

"Saved. Add an approved toll-free or 10DLC number before this web form can be enabled." Once you have an approved number, turn Enabled on and click Save.

"Saved. Add an email or phone field before this web form can be enabled." Add a Field element for a phone number or email, then click Save.

"This url is already taken, please update" Choose a different Custom page URL. It must be unique across the platform, and can use lowercase letters, numbers and dashes.

Shopify stores: A Website Embed form shows no embed code. In the Shopify theme editor, add the Cobalt Web Form block to a section, paste the form ID into the block's settings and save.
