Overview

Smart sending keeps campaigns from reaching the same subscriber too often. When it is on for a campaign, Cobalt skips anyone who has already received your limit of campaign messages within your Smart sending window. The default is 1 campaign message every 8 hours.

How Smart sending works

Smart sending is on by default for every campaign. To turn it off for one campaign, clear its checkbox under the audience when you create the campaign.

  • Only campaign messages count toward the limit.

  • Messages from flows and conversations are not included.

The Recipients number in the composer already leaves out anyone over the limit, and a note under the audience tells you how many people were skipped. Cobalt checks each person again when the campaign sends, so the final number can change for a scheduled campaign. Someone skipped for one campaign can receive the next one once they are under the limit.

Change your limit

1. Go to Settings > Messaging. Under Smart sending, choose how many campaign messages, from 1 to 10, and how many hours, from 1 to 24.

2. Click Save changes.
