When Won't Cobalt Send Messages?

Learn when Cobalt holds campaign and flow messages for quiet hours, and how to turn on state-specific sending windows.

Overview

Cobalt does not send campaign or flow messages between 8pm and 9am in the subscriber's local time. They are held until the window opens, then they send.

What is held

Campaign messages and flow messages, including welcome flows, wait for quiet hours to end. A campaign shows In Progress with its next send time while some recipients are waiting. Cobalt works out each subscriber's local time from their saved time zone or the area code of their phone number.

Replies sent in Conversations, by you or by the AI assistant, are not held.

Get Started

Turn on quiet hours by state

1. Go to Settings > Messaging and find Quiet hours.

2. Tick Enable quiet hours by state, then click Save changes.

Subscribers in these states then use the state's window instead:

  • CT: 9am to 8pm local time, every day.

  • FL, MD, OK, OR and WA: 8am to 8pm local time, every day.

  • TX: 9am to 9pm Monday through Saturday, and 12pm to 9pm on Sunday.

Subscribers in every other state keep the 9am to 8pm window. Cobalt finds the state from the area code of the subscriber's phone number.

Helpful Information

You cannot change the default hours or exempt a message. You can only turn the state windows on or off. State quiet hours are off by default.

Shopify stores: Store credit text notifications are also held until quiet hours end.
