Overview
The Shopify integration lets Cobalt use your store's orders, checkouts, products and customers in flows, segments, rewards and reports. You connect it by installing the Cobalt app in Shopify, not from a button in Cobalt.
Get Started
A. Connect your store
1. Install the Cobalt app from the Shopify App Store and approve it in your Shopify admin.
2. In Cobalt, go to Integrations. The Shopify card shows Installed.
3. Click the Shopify card. The panel on the right reads Installed.
B. Choose what Cobalt and Shopify share
1. On the Shopify page, click the Settings tab.
2. Under Shopify Content, tick the options you want:
Sync your Shopify SMS subscribers to Cobalt: On by default. People who subscribe to SMS marketing in Shopify from now on are added to Cobalt as subscribers.
Automatically add all emails collected by Cobalt to your Shopify store: Off by default. When a popup or web form collects an email from someone new, Cobalt adds them to Shopify as a customer.
Forward SMS marketing consent status to Shopify: Off by default. When someone subscribes through a popup or web form, Cobalt marks the Shopify customer with the same phone number as subscribed to SMS marketing.
3. Click Save. You see "Settings saved."
What happens next
Cobalt starts receiving new orders, checkouts and customer updates, and turns on visit tracking on your store. To show popups on your store, see Turn On the Cobalt App Embed in Shopify.
Helpful Information
Shopify SMS subscribers who are already in Cobalt are left as they are.
Forwarding SMS consent only updates customers who already exist in Shopify with that phone number.
To disconnect Shopify, uninstall the Cobalt app in your Shopify admin. The Shopify page in Cobalt then shows Install, which reconnects the same store.
Troubleshooting
"Reconnect required": Cobalt has lost access to your store, so data stops syncing. Click Reconnect Shopify and approve the app in Shopify again.
