Overview
An API key lets your own systems, such as a CRM, add, look up and unsubscribe subscribers. Webhooks notify your systems when subscribers join or leave, and when messages are sent, delivered, clicked or replied to. Both come with the Pro and Enterprise plans, and only the account owner and Admins can set them up.
Get Started
A. Create an API key
1. Go to Account Settings > API Keys and click Create API key.
2. Enter a Name, read the Consent agreement, click the checkbox "I agree", then click Create key.
3. Click Copy, store the key somewhere safe, then click Done. Cobalt shows it only once.
Your developer sends the key as Authorization: Bearer followed by the key, to the Base URL on the page. View API documentation lists every request.
B. Add a webhook endpoint
1. Under Webhooks, click Add endpoint.
2. Enter the Endpoint URL, which must start with https://, check the events to send, then click Add endpoint.
Subscriber subscribed and Subscriber unsubscribed: someone joins or leaves your list.
Message sent, Message delivered and Link clicked: what happens to a text you send.
Reply received: a subscriber texts you back.
3. Click Copy to save the Signing secret, then click Done. Your server uses it to check the Cobalt-Signature header on each request.
4. Click the three-dot menu on the endpoint and choose Send test event to check that your server receives it.
